Fremont Garage Featured in Bridgetown Bites
Exciting news for the Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood! Bridgetown Bites recently spotlighted Fremont Garage in a detailed feature by editor Meg Cotner.
Set to open Memorial Day weekend, Fremont Garage is already generating buzz as a dynamic new gathering space at NE Fremont Street and NE 44th Avenue. The project transforms a former auto shop into a vibrant food cart pod anchored by a central building with a bar, indoor seating, and a family-friendly play area. Outside, up to eight food carts will offer a diverse lineup of cuisine. From burgers and Mexican fare to shawarma and Himalayan dishes, carefully curated to complement, not compete with, existing neighborhood favorites.
One of the most compelling aspects highlighted in Bridgetown Bites is the project’s strong connection to community. From preserving elements of the site’s history, like signage from Barrett Automotive, to incorporating feedback from neighbors, Fremont Garage is being built with intention. Plans for a future public plaza adjacent to the site further emphasize its role as a potential neighborhood hub.
With a focus on inclusivity, variety, and thoughtful design, Fremont Garage aims to be more than just a place to eat. It’s envisioned as a shared space where neighbors of all ages can gather, connect, and enjoy.
